Think about that for a moment. It’s your choice. God offers His peace, but we must choose to receive it.

Colossians 3:15 says:

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…”

That word “let” is crucial. It tells us that peace is not something that just happens to us; it’s something we must allow to take charge. If we don’t, something else will—anxiety, fear, worry, frustration. These are the default settings of our human nature, constantly demanding attention. But God offers us a better way.

When our minds are set on the flesh—on our circumstances, our problems, or our need for control—we spiral into stress and restlessness. But when we fix our minds on the Spirit, we step into life and peace (Romans 8:6).
