Something to Forgive: A Blueprint for Breaking the Chains We Just Can’t See

In Something to Forgive, Kathleen Johnson offers a transformative guide to the journey of forgiveness—a journey essential for breaking free from unseen chains that keep us bound to pain, resentment, and lost peace. With compassion and hard-earned wisdom, Johnson reveals the true cost of unforgiveness on our mental, emotional, and physical well-being, supported by powerful insights from neuroscience, psychology, and spiritual revelation.

This book goes beyond theory. Through practical exercises, scientific studies, and eye-opening accounts from doctors like Dr. David Levy, Johnson illuminates the mind-body connection in forgiveness, showing how resentment affects our physical health and why releasing it opens the door to healing. Drawing on spiritual insights from those with gifts of vision into the spiritual realm, she sheds light on the unseen, spiritual ties that keep us shackled to past hurts, all while grounding these discoveries in timeless Scripture.

At the heart of Something to Forgive is a deeper look at Jesus’s command to forgive in the Lord’s Prayer, uncovering how this command isn’t just a suggestion but a powerful path to freedom and wholeness. With each chapter, Johnson unpacks hidden traps—bitterness, offense, self-protection—that lure us back into bondage, even as we yearn for freedom.

  • Discover how forgiveness impacts our bodies and minds, with insights from neuroscience, psychology, and groundbreaking medical cases.
  • Receive practical exercises and tools to help you let go of past hurts, break free from bitterness, and protect yourself from new chains.
  • Explore forgiveness stories from the Bible and real life that inspire and reveal the transformative power of releasing others, ourselves, and even God.
  • Uncover the truth about forgiveness from a spiritual perspective, with unique insights from those who have experienced the unseen spiritual world and its profound impact on our lives.

With a roadmap that blends Scripture, science, and spiritual insight, Something to Forgive equips readers to break free from invisible bonds, live unburdened, and embrace the abundant peace God has promised. For anyone standing at the crossroads of bitterness or healing, Johnson’s compassionate guidance offers a life-changing path forward.

Eye-opening and Deep! (Not just another book on forgiveness)

“Something to Forgive” isn’t just about letting go of resentment—it’s about breaking spiritual chains and stepping into the freedom God has for us. I love how Kathleen Johnson effortlessly marries profound spiritual truths with indisputable science (heart and brain examples), and how unforgiveness affects not only our souls, but our physical and mental well-being. Her personal journey and real-life testimonies throughout the book made it easy to read and relatable. It’s an encouraging and eye-opening read for anyone seeking healing and a closer walk with God. May we all dare to go beyond the barriers of a heart that’s been closed off–not only to pain, but to God’s gifts!

READ THIS BOOK!!

I loved this book! There’s so much valuable information that touches your heart and awakens feelings and memories that need attention and release. I loved that she said that forgiveness and trust are not the same thing! Because I forgive someone doesn’t have to mean I have to trust them. That helped me so much! She gives excellent examples to clarify points she’s making. For example, Pastor Peter Tan’s incredible journey of repeated 40-day fasts. I can’t wait to read his book about the resulting revelations of the Spiritual World he received. Kathleen Johnson is an excellent writer and amazing human being full of the Christ Spirit as revealed in this book. You must read her book!

Heartfelt book on forgiveness

This book is written from the heart… That is what I love about this . It is easy to read, and most informative it clearly is written from the writer’s experiences and is helpful and encouraging for those, for all of us who experience finding it hard to forgive.

From the heart to the head

Something to Forgive, A Blueprint for Breaking the Chains We Just Can’t See, is an unusual read in that it evangelizes the process of coping with life’s toxic moments with the suggestion that we let them go. It is not an easy or purposeful task in some cases, although if dislike, avoidance (and even hatred) have become a burden, this book offers a great deal of thought-provoking wisdom. More importantly, apart from some overdramatization, it is creative and well-written. Isn’t that what we are reviewing here? Ultimately, Love Thyself and To Thy Ownself Be True stand out as parables of our day and every day.

Remarkable, thorough, practical

This is just a fantastic book. The author covers the topic of forgiveness from every angle: emotional, spiritual, physical, and provides overwhelming evidence for the necessity of practising forgiveness in a deeply-felt way. But unlike other books/articles on the subject, this book offers practical guidance on how to finally achieve your forgiveness goals. How to know if you are harbouring unforgiveness? How to really feel free emotionally? She doesn’t just leave the reader with an understanding of the necessity of forgiveness;
she provides the “how-to”: she gives guided meditations to free the heart; she presents a “litmus test” by which you can gauge results. And then Biblical stories–David/Saul, Hosea/Gomer and others–as well as modern stories of forgiveness such as Corrie Ten Boom’s, to inspire and direct. The thorough approach to this all-important area is truly remarkable and exemplary. A great book for anyone struggling to forgive (and who isn’t, at some time or other?), and a tremendous resource for a group to study and work through together–for example, in a Bible study. Congratulations on a fine work that should produce much good fruit.
