Trusting God Completely

Scripture:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
—Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Devotional

We like control. We like to plan, strategize, and make sure everything happens the way we think it should. But real trust—the kind that brings peace and freedom—means surrendering that control to God.

It’s easy to trust when everything is going well. But what about when life feels uncertain? When prayers go unanswered? When you don’t see a way forward? This is where faith is built—in the unknown.

Trusting God doesn’t mean we always understand His plan. It means believing He is good even when we don’t see the full picture. It means laying down our fears and choosing faith over worry. It means resting in the truth that He is in control, even when we feel out of control.

So today, what if you let go of the need to figure everything out? What if you simply trusted?

• What areas of your life do you struggle to trust God with?
• How would surrendering control bring you peace?
• What is one way you can practice trust today?

Prayer:

Lord, I surrender. I give You my worries, my plans, my fears. I trust that You see what I cannot, and that Your plans for me are good. Help me to lean not on my own understanding, but to rest fully in You. Amen.

Memory Verse:

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” —Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
